Qardh al-Hasan is a benevolent, interest-free loan extended purely for welfare and compassion. In Islam, interest is prohibited, and therefore the borrower is required to repay only the original amount borrowed—no more. If the borrower faces financial hardship, the lender must grant additional time for repayment and may even choose to waive part or all of the debt. This spirit of generosity also supports Debt Relief, helping individuals break free from burdens that hinder their stability and dignity.
The Qur’an encourages believers to extend such kindness: “Who is he that will give Allah a goodly loan (Qard Hasan)? For Allah will increase it manifold to his credit.”
